Ballena National Marine Park
was the first marine park in Latin America and is the only one in Costa Rica. The park is a system of reefs and islands called Las Tres Hermanas that protect the coastline which is made of several unique geological formations and creates some of the best diving and snorkeling in Costa Rica.
We recommend:

Caño Island
The island is well known for its white sand beaches and the well protected inshore coral reef. It is the best spot in Costa Rica for snorkeling and scuba diving because of its clear water and its pristine wildlife. (reef sharks, dolphins, humpback whales, giant manta rays, sea turtles, puffer fish, angel and barracuda, just to name a few)
